Theodore A. Benton, a liberal arts graduate from St. Edward's
University and Boston University, is the founder of the original Benton's Hypnosis
Clinic in Winchester, Massachusetts. He is certified with the American Board of Hypnotherapy and holds a certificate as an Instructor of Hypnotherapy with the ABH. Training with Daniel Brown, Ph.D. & Associates is approved by the American Psychological Association.
Ted Benton runs certifying classes two months yearly in the greater Boston
area, and also wrote a quarterly column "Applied Hypnotherapy" for
The Journal of Hypnotism. He is the author of several papers on various
aspects of hypnotherapy including "Hypnotherapy, Golf and Tennis",
"Depression and Hypnotherapy", "Cancer, Chemotherapy and Hypnotherapy",
and "Children and Hypnotherapy". Ted Benton is the co-author of "Hypnotherapy
for AD/HD: Preliminary Evidence for its Effectiveness". This paper was delivered
at the national Convention for the American Psychological Association in Chicago,
August 21, 2002. Benton was also a contributor to the AAMH Journal as
well as to IACT's Unlimited Human, and has appeared nationally on television
on the Discovery Channel as guest speaker on hypnotherapy featuring Weight Loss
and Internet Addiction. In February 2004, Ted Benton was featured as the main
speaker at the National Convention for the American Board of Hypnotherapy in
Irvine, CA. In October 2008, Ted Benton was a featured speaker at the annual
convention of the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy in
London, England, where he spoke on the Applications of Hypnotherapy with Children.
