I just found a great artifact detailing my parents' struggle with technology. My dad wrote out directions for my mom on using the DVD player. I'm gonna try to translate it as close to the original as I can:

DVD

1. Take 2 gray remote controls
2. Turn on the TV
3. Insert DVD
4. On the TV remote, press TV/Video until a DVD picture is seen

Addendum

A red light on the DVD player means that it is turned off.

I have yet to see, however, my mom being able to use this high technology successfully.
