good news (of sorts)

Among all the crap that happens these days, it's nice to see an occasional sliver of progress. The Supreme Court has ruled that EPA should do its job in regulating greenhouse gases (yup, this is the same case that Stan has reported on previously).

What's worrisome is just how close the ruling was, 5 to 4. Clearly, Bush's appointees, Roberts and Alito, were among the four - which underscores that the Supreme Court is just one judge away from going back into the Middle Ages.
