this just in

Finally got around to looking at pictures from Saturday. Awesome game...

... made even more awesomer by the next one, where the Sox scored four back-to-back-to-back-to-back homers while sweeping the Yankees.

take meeeee out to the baaallpark

OK, so maybe April is not as terrible as I originally thought. Susan and I went to a Tufts alumni gathering right down the street from us, and along with the food & wine that disappeared in about five seconds, they had a raffle for Red Sox tickets. Guess who won? That's right! I got myself a pair of tix for Red Sox vs. Yankees this Saturday!

Susan, however, deserves all the credit, for she was the one who dropped my business card in - I didn't have any left in my wallet. In any case, sweeeeeet!

feeling warm?

Those Brits are on to something. First, they are bringing the issue of global warming to UN’s Security Council, which is an absolutely right thing to do, since all indications point to the fact that we are royally screwed. Second, they are trying to do something on the home front by distributing free energy meters to help folks cut down on their electricity usage.

As far as Americans go… well, we still love our Hummers. Even if it is 80 degrees in Boston in January, and snowing in the middle of April...

not looking forward to this month

It has been decided: April is gonna suck. Besides all the usual cr@p, I need to come through on my mini-UPA submission, teach CSS to a crowd of unwilling developers, and make sure that the new hire and the summer intern don't get too bored. At this point, it looks like I'll be shipped of to CHI in a body bag.

SO ready to move out

As if our pint-sized apartment was too big for two people, we've got some extra guests:

EWWWWWWWW.

But, I must say, this electronic trap is awesome. Throw some peanut butter in, flick the switch, remove dead mice. 5 at the latest count. Freaktastic.

good news (of sorts)

Among all the crap that happens these days, it's nice to see an occasional sliver of progress. The Supreme Court has ruled that EPA should do its job in regulating greenhouse gases (yup, this is the same case that Stan has reported on previously).

What's worrisome is just how close the ruling was, 5 to 4. Clearly, Bush's appointees, Roberts and Alito, were among the four - which underscores that the Supreme Court is just one judge away from going back into the Middle Ages.
