when in rome...

OK, quick check-in from an internet cafe in Rome. In the past ten days, Susan and I traveled from Barcelona to Arles, France, then rented a car for a tour de force through Tuscany and Umbria. We somehow made it to the Italian capital, despite the desperate attempts of multiple Italian motorists and pedestrians wishing to end their life in front of our VW Polo. I'll have to sort through my memory (and my camera's memory card) later to identify the high points of the trip - there just have been so many. But yeah, my batteries are recharged, and all my domestic concerns are long forgotten... or, rather, replaced with new ones - like not getting burned to a crisp under this crazy sun!
